EIT Digital's Innovation Factory supports pan-European entrepreneurial teams launching start-ups and new high-tech products, with the aim of improving the global impact of Europe's digital industry, stimulating sustainable economic growth and improving citizens' quality of life. This is why the EIT Digital 2021 call programme is guided by the Strategic Innovation Agenda 2020-2022, which identifies the five strategic areas for an increasingly strong digital Europe:
- Digital Tech
- Digital Industry
- Digital Cities
- Digital Wellbeing
- Digital Finance
These are the areas of interest for the EIT Digital call, the deadline applications submission is May 7th, 2020. The selection will be completed by the end of June 2020 and the start of the approved activities is set for January 1st, 2021.
Innovation serving citizens
The selected activities will be integrated, through pre-incubation support, into the European EIT Digital ecosystem and will receive financial co-investment to develop their technology and attract investors and customers.
Over the years, the proposals made by EIT Digital's more than 190 industrial partners, as well as 70 partners from the research and academic world, have led to market of more than 430 products, the creation of more than 180 deep-tech startups, training of more than 2,300 students with the right skills to innovate and become entrepreneurs and the writing of more than 200 PhD theses in collaboration with industry.
