After 2 years of hiatus, the “Burning Man” of the homonymous event that since the 1990s has brought together thousands of people in the Nevada desert returns to shine. The long-awaited 2022 edition also includes the contribution of Trentino: indeed, Energy Spa, a company born and headquartered in Progetto Manifattura, in Rovereto, has been tasked with literally giving light to the event’s spectacular artistic installations.
Burning Man 2022: an edition dedicated to sustainability
“Black Rock City” is the name of the temporary metropolis that every year is built in the Nevada desert to celebrate the Burning Man festival. At the end of summer, more than 70,000 people gather in Black Rock City for a unique event dedicated to figurative arts, freedom of expression and the building of inclusive and sustainable societies.
The 2022 edition focuses on “Waking Dreams”, reinforcing themes linked to environmental sustainability. In addition to the “refreshment” team that customarily, after the event, sifts through the desert to clean it of any waste, this year, for the first time, the organisers decided not set the giant puppet ablaze, the ritual that gives the event its name, but only to illuminate it.
This is where Trentino came into play with Energy Spa: on the evening of 3 September 2022, the Trentino company figuratively “ignited” the puppet, making it shine by means of proprietary technology that ensures energy self-sufficiency and safety during the event’s core moment, in full respect of the environment.
A new important milestone for Energy Spa
The involvement in this important event adds to the collection of many achievements the company has put under its belt in recent months.
Sector leader in storage systems for energy from renewable sources, Energy Spa was founded in 2013 as an innovative start-up within Progetto Manifattura in Rovereto, rapidly growing thanks to the development of some of Italy’s largest industrial storage systems. And that’s not all: in July 2022 Energy Spa was listed on the Euronext Growth Milan platform.
Its participation in “Burning Man 2022” adds to the growth and development of a company which, with this latest opportunity, goes beyond national borders, also increasing its relationship with the foreign market.
