The first phase of Trentino Startup Valley, a program conceived by Hub Innovazione Trentino and Trentino Sviluppo to accompanying startups, is now underway. 36 applications received, 15 selected, 38 participants, mostly from Trentino, between 25 and 45 years of age, including 11 women and 3 foreign professionals.
The wide participation reveals the vitality the Trentino research system, capable of transforming knowledge into entrepreneurial projects. 11 of the 15 selected business ideas came from University of Trento, through the departments of Cellular Biology, Computational and Integrated Biology - CIBIO, Engineering and Information Science - DISI, Physics, Law, as well as Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) and Fondazione Edmund Mach (FEM).
The lessons held during the Bootstrap phase will continue on a weekly basis until the beginning of May. The startups will present their projects at a public event called "Demo Day", on May 12th. Only the most innovative, financially sustainable and well-structured ideas will pass to the "Validation" phase.
