For Trentino Startup Valley, the top business acceleration program in Trentino, 2023 kicks off under the banner of the first verdicts. On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, the third "validation" event for entrepreneurial ventures is coming up, the most eagerly awaited time for all the teams that have made it through to the final rounds of the program.
To introduce the evening of February 1, 2023 Invest In Trentino will present, in brief, the operational framework of Trentino Startup Valley, an initiative introduced by the Autonomous Province of Trento to enhance the efforts driven by the main public stakeholders of the Trentino System in charge of encouraging and supporting new entrepreneurship: Trentino Sviluppo and Fondazione HIT.
Trentino Startup Valley: from idea to business in 2 stages
In Trentino Startup Valley every genuine and innovative business idea will be welcome. The program, in fact, is targeted both at new startups and at single innovators who, alone or in a group, have a worthwhile project in mind.
To join, it is necessary to wait for Trentino Startup Valley to open its doors to new teams: usually the windows to apply open once a year for a couple of months in which all interested parties can apply for their business idea.
Once the selections are closed, the "class" that will begin the acceleration process from Phase 1, the Bootstrap phase, will be shaped.
Phase 1 or Bootstrap lasts approximately 4 months. It aims to empower future entrepreneurs with the skills needed to consolidate and strengthen the structure of the business idea and make it economically viable. The Bootstrap stage consists of 12 mandatory plenary classes on a weekly basis (tends to be on Tuesdays), personalized coaching dedicated to each individual team and the possibility of using the coworking spaces of Trentino Sviluppo in Rovereto and Fondazione HIT - Hub Innovazione Trentino - in Trento.
At the end of Bootstrap, the Bootstrap Demo Day will be held, a public event in which the Evaluation Committee will determine which proposals are ready to access Phase 2, the Validation phase that aims to continue the path of consolidation of the business idea to full maturity and self-sufficiency.
Phase 2 or Validation, which lasts 8 months, includes dedicated and specialized coaching services from experts at Trentino Sviluppo and Fondazione HIT, as well as professionals in contracting, company formation, cybersecurity, GDPR compliance, certifications, team creation, marketing and finance, and access to the two entities' coworking spaces in Trento and Rovereto.
Projects that successfully make it through the Validation phase will be granted access to Validation Day, a public event with an audience of business angels and investors that will close the acceleration program.
Validation Day 2023: Wednesday, February 1, 2023 5:00 p.m.
For the 2023 edition, there are 7 startups in the race for the closing event, for a challenge that promises to be intense and hard-fought. The venue is the Sala Piave of Trentino Sviluppo in Rovereto, where the teams will compete in pitches in front of the jury and an audience of business angels, investors and enthusiasts. Three prizes will be awarded: "1st place," "best pitch" and "investment readiness."
To spice up the evening will be Giorgio Ciron, director of InnovUp class of 1991 and ForbesUnder30 Italy talent engaged by the Trentino Startup Valley team to escort the pitches of the startups with a k-note speech.
