Environmental sustainability, medicine, inclusion. By ‘foraying’ into areas and sectors with a high social impact, 3D printing can help the world become a better place. And Trentino, with its mechatronic prototyping centre in Rovereto, plays a leading role in this revolutionary process. For additive manufacturing enthusiasts, in fact, two important events are scheduled in June at ProM Facility - Trentino Sviluppo, which will show, with talks by experts and cutting-edge companies, how AM is increasingly becoming a technology capable of solving tomorrow's challenges, with particular attention to circularity and positive impacts on society.
3D printing and social impact
The series kicks off on June 13 with the event ‘3D printing with high social impact’, during which some interesting projects developed by ProM Facility in collaboration with the University of Trento, the Trento Provincial Agency for Health Services (APSS) and some companies in fields such as medicine, social inclusion and environmental sustainability will be presented. The initiative is organised by Fondazione Hit - Hub Innovazione Trentino and includes, in addition to a conference part, a guided tour of ProM Facility, where the technologies that have been used to realise the projects will be explained.
Participation is open and free of charge subject to availability. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER >>
AITA Workshop
The second event is the workshop ‘Additive manufacturing for sustainability’, organised by ProM Facility in cooperation with AITA - the Italian Association of Additive Technologies and under the patronage of the UCIMU Foundation and piùAdditive. During the event, scheduled for 25 June, the latest trends and innovative applications of AM with a view to environmental and social sustainability will be presented, from the direct experience of companies, including f3nice Srl, an Italian start-up that produces metal powders for additive manufacturing, giving new life to scrap and disused parts.
Participating companies will have the opportunity to visit the ProM Facility and request a B2B meeting with the technologists of the Trentino Sviluppo prototyping and product development centre, in the areas of 3D Printing, Additive manufacturing, Design, Electronics and Mechanics.
The event will also host the award ceremony for the 2024 edition of the PROTO Challenge, the technology challenge organised by the HIT Foundation, which envisages collaboration between research, universities and enterprises, to innovate through additive manufacturing.
