Trentino Startup Valley: the winners of the third Demo Day

After two editions experienced "digitally" due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, Trentino Startup Valley's Demo Day returns in presence for a 2022 edition full of innovative insights. 

Demo Day is the first, crucial stage of the program that supports startups promoted by Trentino Sviluppo and Fondazione Hit - Hub Innovazione Trentino. On May 4, 2022, at the third edition of the event organized in the Paolo Prodi auditorium of the University of Trento, 17 startups were involved, showing determination and a newfound energy after two years of pandemic.

The focus of this third edition is on four technology sectors:

  • biotechnology;

  • information technology; 

  • education;

  • agribusiness.

Exovo, Meeva and Baolfly: the winners of the third Demo Day

Winning over the Evaluation Committee during the decisive 3-minute presentation were the startups Exovo, Meeva and Baolfly, which won the 30,000 euro prize. 

With this incentive, the 3 teams will be able to tackle the product validation phase, a preparatory stage to the actual market launch in which the other finalist startups will also participate. The budget, for all teams promoted to the "Validation" phase, is 15 thousand euros, a amount with to set a growth path with an eye on the market. 

  • Exovo proposed a rehabilitation treatment system through the design of next-generation wearable exoskeletons, a solution aimed at people with difficulties and deficits in movement, walking disorders or balance problems.

  • Meeva presented a remote digital therapy solution for children with neurodevelopmental disorders. Leveraging virtual reality and biometric data analysis, this solution allows affected children to improve relational and emotional skills in a playful way.

  • Baolfly, aims to produce animal feed derived from insects, developing a local recovery chain and creating new sources of alternative protein with low environmental impact 

  • The Yore startup also won the special "Intellectual Property" award worth 5 thousand euros. The team's focus is on intelligent tattoo removal, with a system based on a patch that can remove ink quickly and painlessly.

Trentino welcomes the best entrepreneurial proposals

Trentino Startup Valley's Demo Day is now a "classic" event in which students, startuppers, investors or simple enthusiasts, connected live from all over Italy, can discover and learn about the most innovative entrepreneurial initiatives being developed in the Trentino territory.  

The Trentino Startup Valley acceleration program brings together in a single organic path the main growth opportunities for startups and aspiring new entrepreneurs put in place by Trentino.  

All participants, selected from the dozens of applications to enter the program that come in each year, are offered by Trentino Sviluppo and HIT dedicated and specialized coaching services and access to coworking spaces in Trentino and Rovereto.
