VRT Foundation launches the call for proposals "Artificial Intelligence 2024", dedicated to innovative technological projects of impact for Trentino that exploit AI tools. The measure provides for a non-repayable grant of up to 30 thousand euro to cover the costs of equipment, devices, materials, specialist consultancy and possible localisation in the province of Trento. The Foundation will support a maximum of 20 applications for this call for proposals, for a total amount of 600 thousand euro.

Artificial Intelligence 2024: the call for proposals
The purpose of the calls for proposals promoted by VRT Foundation is to facilitate, encourage and implement the application of technologies, patents, inventions, know-how and skills developed and/or enhanced in Trentino.
Beneficiaries of the call
- University of Trento and relevant departments
- Foundations and public and private research bodies based in the province of Trento
- Start-ups, micro-businesses, schools, companies, benefit societies and non-profit organisations legally established with registered office or operational headquarters in Trentino
Evaluation Criteria
The Evaluation Committee and the Referees will assess the applications according to the following criteria:
- Technologies based on an innovation with potential for scalability
- Benefits for people
- Long-term sustainability (minimum 5 years) with first spin-offs within 6 months
- Project aspiring for co-investment or Open Innovation
- Composition of the research and development team and composition of the "operational" team (extra score in case of female proposer, manager and project team)
- Projects aspiring to submit to EIC (European Innovation Council) or ERC (European Research Council) within 12 months
Monitoring and reporting
Grant recipients commit to send VRT Foundation a video report on the results achieved on a monthly basis for the first 12 months and on a six-monthly basis from the 12th to the 36th month of the project. The reports and videos will be considered an integral part of the project reporting and may be submitted to the Commission or to Refeee for evaluation.
Modalities of participation
Grant applications must be submitted through the new Access Impact platform and can be uploaded after accreditation on the new portal.
